FINE ART/ DESIGN
Unlike the majority of my illustration and cartooning, my "fine art" is stylistically all over the place. That's not a very highbrow, conceptual, or "art-speaky" thing to say, but it's true. When it comes to this work, I've always let my mind travel where it wants, using whatever method and medium is appropriate to the task. As always, I gravitate to the natural world; most particularly trees and water, and the endless patters of light and physical rhythms I find there. And, as in all categories of my oeuvres d'art, the ubiquitous cats, dogs and birds make their appearances.
If anything binds my work together, it is a love for mood, atmospherics and mystery—the flip-side to my crazy humor, I suppose.
